Valentine’s Day is a great occasion for a wedding, with love in the air among the entire congregation, not just the happy couple. So, if you’re planning on tying the knot this February 14th, here are some ideas on how you can decorate your marquee for a truly romantic day.
There’s nothing more elegant than candlelight, especially during the darker winter months, so why not add some mood lighting to your venue with table centrepieces of church candles, candelabras or floating tea lights?
- Rose petals
Valentine’s Day is synonymous with red roses, and women up and down the country will be receiving a dozen beautiful roses by the time you’ve had your make-up applied. So, why not embrace the tradition and add a bold, bright colour to your marquee with blooms of roses everywhere you turn?
You could scatter red velvet petals down the aisle for you to walk down to say ‘I do’, or sprinkle petals on the table tops for a little extra colour and texture to your reception.
Don’t feel like you have to go for roses though, as dark red dahlias, hypericum berries, calla lilies and carnations all make for eye-popping bouquets as well.
- Ice sculpture
Embrace the February frost by having an ice sculpture made for your special day with a Valentine’s theme. You could have the ice structure made into a cupid, two hearts or even something a bit more personal to you. Whatever you choose, you can guarantee it will be a talking point among your guests all night long.
