Mother’s Day is this Sunday (March 6th) and if you’ve been good enough to consider arranging a special event to really help her celebrate being the best mum ever in serious style, you just might need a few ideas.
As you'd probably expect, we provide Marquees, both clear span and petal marquees (these are the traditional style which look wonderful without being decorated, as can be seen in the picture). We offer a complete service which can include numerous options, including chair hire, dancefloors, stages, generators, toilets and pretty much anything you can think of which is needed to turn a marquee into a beautiful venue suited to your mothers big day. Our staff will deliver and erect the marquee, line it with your chosen drapes, and of course, bring any furniture or other accessories you've decided on. Then after the event, they will be back again, to take it down, pack everrything away and bring it back, to be checked and cleaned ready for the next customer.
If you need anything beyond what we can provide, we can draw on well over 15 years experience working with other local businesses such as caterers, florists, PA hire companies, bands, DJ's and photographers, who we know also offer high levels of service.
If you decide to use a catering company, we can provide a marquee with a suitable annexe or a seperate smaller area away from the guests, with ample space for them to prepare food and from which to serve your guests. But what food do you serve? Here's just one idea.
If you’ve asked your guests to arrive before lunch but expect them all to be hungry, consider serving up an elegant brunch that consists of food such as ham and egg crepes, maple-glazed bacon, frittatas, poached eggs and avocado… simple yet delicious food is always a winner so perhaps don’t go too complicated with your options.
If you’re planning something a little later in the day, what about coming up with a menu of potato cakes and smoked salmon, crab and cucumber club sandwiches, poached eggs and purple sprouting broccoli, and one-pot chicken casserole to make serving lots of people an absolute cinch.
If there’s one thing that mothers love it’s a spot of afternoon tea. Whether you’re at home cooking up a storm yourself or are having a caterer provide the food for your marquee party, these recipes are sure to be a winner. What about pistachio cakes, banana custard eclairs, white chocolate choux buns, banana cheesecake and scones with jam and clotted cream. Just don’t forget the champagne, whatever you do!
We’d love to hear what you’ve all got planned for your mothers this year here at Richardson Marquees, so why not contact us to discuss your requirements. You can also find us on Facebook, Twitter and Google. Looking forward to hearing from you!
